Are you thinking of taking a SMART saddle on directrental?

Thanks to the fully flexible design of the SMART saddle range, as well as the intuitive, Easy-fit system, where a visit from an approved SMART Advisor is not possible, you can order a saddle to take on rental directly from SMART HQ instead. This system has been developed where restrictions prevent hands-on fittings and, due to its success, continues to be available to all clients.

Our team at SMART HQ can use information about you, your horse and your saddle needs to determine the right size and style saddle for you to try. Upon receipt of the saddle, and any recommended fitting accessories, we offer a FREE remote fitting service.

Although remote fittings are very successful, we do need you to work with us to get the best results. Therefore, please be prepared to:

  • Request for the saddle to be delivered at a time where you have capacity to try it out thoroughly.
    Rental is charged at £75 per week from the day that you receive the saddle, however if you decide to buy within 2 x weeks from the delivery date of the saddle, no rental is charged – so ensure to time your rental to make the most of this trial period!<

  • Read through out fitting guidelines and familiarise yourself with the basic fitting principals in anticipation of the arrival of your SMART saddle. This will help you to understand the 2-step process we follow when fitting SMART Saddles:
  • 1) Fit to the horse
  • 2) Balance for the rider

  • Prepare your horse! Particularly if your horse is young or is coming back into work from rehab, ensure that your horse is ready to start working in a saddle once you receive it. Whether that’s working them from the ground, assisting them physically with dynamic exercises or getting them used to wearing a girth, set your horse up for success and make the transition to a SMART saddle as smooth as possible.

  • Arrange for a remote fitting video call OR send thorough photos, videos and feedback as soon as you try the saddle. We can make recommendations for adjustments to afford you the best trial possible, but only once we have the right information to work with. For absolute best results, have somebody on-hand to hold your phone throughout the videocall, so that we can see exactly what is happening between horse, saddle and rider.
  • Use our recommended accessories for best results. Although you may have alternative pads and girths that you’d like to try, we cannot guarantee how these will fit and engage with the SMART saddle, therefore please use our recommended accessories when working with us during a remote fit. We know how much lift a SMART Standard Dorsal Supplement Pad will give, but we have no way of knowing how much support your old foam shims have left in them!

  • Have patience! Saddle fitting is a process and we have to be systematic in our approach. That means that there may be a number of changes to make whilst we get you set up with your new saddle. Please set aside an appropriate amount of time for this.
