SMART Fitting Training: Now available for SMART Customers

Would you like to learn more about the SMART fitting process so that you are more confident when using and fitting your SMART saddle(s) to your horse or other horses that you ride? Or are you just interested to find out more about the principles of the fully flexible SMART saddle system?

SMART Saddles are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer ½ day training courses for SMART customers, owners and riders. Run by our team of SMART Advisors across the UK. Depending on the focus needs of the group, you can learn to:

• Make a basic assessment of the horse’s back to determine;

1. Any potential issues which may affect saddle fit
2. Which SMART saddle panel may be most suitable and why
3. Which pads (if any) you may need before a rider gets on

• How a SMART saddle engages with the horses back differently to a traditional saddle
• The ‘Walking knuckle test’

1. How to – from the saddle and from the ground
2. Limitations – difficult wither profiles and prominent spinous processes

• When and how to use:

1. SMART Dorsal Pads
2. SMART Front Shims
,li>SMART Rear Shims

• Why we recommend the products that we do and potential pitfalls of alternative designs:

1. Saddle cloth design
2. Girthing
3. Shims

• When to call your SMART Advisor

IMPORTANT: This course is designed to help riders better understand how to fit and use their SMART Saddles under normal conditions. It does not qualify the participant to become a SMART Advisor or saddle fitter. Nor does it replace the SMART Home Consultation services for new saddle fits or refits. Please always consult your local SMART Advisor or SMART HQ with any fitting queries.
