From Rehabilitation to Miles Across Exmoor …

I came to SMART Saddles, after seeing a few clients’ horses happier and working well over their backs in their SMART saddles.

 

"I was needing a saddle for a rehab case I had taken on, which I had no saddle for. I’d borrowed a treeless saddle and she was very happy in it, so I thought why not try a SMART Saddle on her. I immediately liked the saddle for its freedom for the rider as well as no fixed or forced seat.

I decided to give it a try on my other horse who was currently without her dressage saddle. She is a very sensitive mare, who I’d taken on as unrideable and untrainable - behaviourally she was very challenging.  Upon viewing her I had her back X-rayed and she had kissing spines - she has been the hardest horse I’ve ever rehabbed. Saddle-wise she has always been very clear, some saddles I’d not even sit in as you'd know from just placing them on her back whether she liked them or not.

She really loves the SMART Elite Dressage saddle, and we haven't looked back.

I feel so much closer and more connected to her body in the saddle. We have ridden for miles across Exmoor in our SMART saddle and love schooling in it too.

 

It's wonderful to now have a saddle in the tack room that has the adaptability to alter for multiple horses, and to know it won't cause any harm if it is correctly shimmed for each one.

I had to sell my treed jump saddle as after not wearing it to school in, I popped it on her to go for a hack and she bronced down the road with me! I returned to the yard, swapped back to our SMART Saddle and we went for a lovely hack.”
